On the Evolution and upgradeability of Windows

If you are more than 30 years old, there is a high probability that you have been witness to the complete evolution of Microsoft Windows, starting with version 1.0 and extending all the way through to today’s Windows 7. In the following video, the author tries an experiment: Starting with MS-DOS 5.0, he installs Windows 1.0 and successively upgrades it through Windows 2.0, Windows 3.0, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Amazingly, this is possible, and applications installed in the earliest version still work in Windows 7:
